Overview
The chart below provides an overview of the roles available within Genius at the IU/District and Program levels. Use this resource to understand the different access levels and responsibilities associated with each role when managing users and students in Genius.

Roles in Genius
Role | Description |
Super Institution Admin | IU use only. Will give the ability to see all students in any of your school districts. |
Institution Admin | Ability to see all students in your affiliation only. Can register and enroll any student. Generally, this role is granted to site coordinators of the CAOLA program. |
Advisor | Ability to see all students in your affiliation only. Cannot register students but can enroll. This role is typically granted to the individual(s) responsible for enrolling and supporting students. These may be teachers, counselors or other assigned personnel. |
Advisor: Specific Student | Ability to see only specific students. Cannot register students but can enroll. This role is typically granted to those who need to monitor and support specific students. This may be counselors, teachers or case managers for special education. |
Advisor: Read Only | Ability to see all students. Cannot register students and cannot enroll students. This role is typically granted to those who need overview of a student, such as a case manager. |
